Deed of Release from the Colony of Connecticut to Nathaniel PARKER

Whereas Nathaniel PARKER of Saybrook in the County of N. London & Colony of Connecticut in New England in & by one certain deed of Mortgage under his hand & seal well executed bearing date Aprill 26th 1734 for the consideration of the sum of fifty pounds Currant money of New England in hand received of the Governor & Company of the colony of Connecticut in New England did make over convey and confirm to the said Governor & Company the following parcell of land scituate in the Old Society of Saybrook aforesaid situate in the Town of Saybrook containing Eleven acres & a half Bounded West and South on Highway North on land of Jemima BRALL & East on lands late in the Tenour of Dn. Wm. PARKER late of Saybrook deceased. And Whereas the General Assembly of the Colony aforesaid in their session at Hartford in May A.D. 1741 by their Special Act did appoint & Impower Nathaniel STANLEY Esq. of Hartford and the Secretary of the Colony aforesaid for the time being to make & execute Deeds of Release under the Public Seal to any person or their or their heirs who had mortgaged their land to the said Governor & Company upon the full payment of the same into ye Public Treasury for which said Mortgages were respectfully given being certified of such payment under the hand of the Treasurer. And whereas the said Nathaniel PARKER hath now paid into the public treasurery of said Colony the sum of fifty pounds Currant money of New England on ye Colony aforesaid & interest &c., in full of the sum for which his said Mortgage was given as by the Treasurers Certified & Receit of even date with these presents appears-

Be it therefore known unto all men that we Nathaniel STANLEY of Hartford in ye County and Colony aforesaid and George WYLLYS of the same Hartford the present Secretary of the Colony aforesaid for ye consideration of the said fifty pounds paid into the Treasurery as aforesaid in pursuance & by virtue of the said act of Assembly in the name and behalf of said Governor & Company have remised released and claim quitted and do by these presents fully & absolutely remise release & Claim quit unto the said Nathaniel PARKER & to his heirs & assigns forever all the right Title interest property Claim or demand whatsoever which the said Governor & Company ever had now have in time to come hereafter might or could have in or to or upon the above bounded & described tract or parcel of land or any part or parts thereof or appurtenances thereto belonging by means force or vertue of deed of Mortgage aforesaid.

To have and to Hold the above bounded & described tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances unto him the said Nathaniel PARKER his heirs & assigns forever to his & their proper use and behoof free and clear of and from any & all manner of claim Challenge or demand of the said Governor & Company at any time hereafter forever to be made on account of the Mortgage deed aforesaid For the confirmation whereof the seal of the corporation is hereto affixed, Given under our hands at Hartford this twenty second day of May Anno Domini 1746.
