To all Christian People To whome these presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that I Samuel KELCEY of Killingworth in the County of New London and Coloney of Conecticut in New England for and in Consideration of a certain tract or parcel of Land made over to me by a sufficien Instrument in wrighting under his hand and seale of Robert CARTER of the Town County and Coloney afore s'd Bareing Date with these presents Have Given Granted Bargained sold Alliened Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents Do fully freely Clearly and absolutly Give Grant Bargain sell allien Convey and Confirm unto him the s'd Robert CARTER his heirs & assigns forever a Certain tract or parcell of Land scituate lying and being near a place Called soopus or CRANE's meadow in the township of Killingworth afore s'd it being twenty five acres Remaining of a lot I sold nine acres of to Sam'll CARTER the whole Lot originally Bounded as followeth (viz,) begining at a Redoak tree marked with H:C: on the westerly side of s'd Land thence Runing southerly forty Eight Rods to a Blackoak tree marked thence Runing Easterly five Rods to a black oak staddle marked thence northerly a hundred and five Rods to a Chestnut tree marked with H:C: thence westerly Eighty six Rods to a Redoak tree marked thence southerly fifty seven Rods to the first mentioned Corner Containing in the whole Lot ogirinally thirty four acres & Bounded Easterly by Saybrook line Every way Elce by s'd Robert CARTER's & Common Land To Have and To Hold the s'd Bargained and Granted twenty five acres of Land being all s'd lot of (and Excepting nine acres which I sold off to Samuel CARTTER) with all the appurtenances privilidges and Comodities to the same belonging or any wise appertaining to him the s'd Robert CARTTER his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only propper use benifit and behoof forever and I the s'd Samuel KELCEY for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant Grant and promise to and with the s'd Robert CARTTER his heirs and assigns that before the Ensealeing and deliver of these presents I am the true sole and Lawfull owner of the above Bargained and Granted premise sand have in my self Good Right full power and Lawfull authority to Bargain and sell the same in manner of above s'd and that the s'd Robert CARTTER his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever here after by force and virtue of these presents Lawfully peaceably and quietly Have Hold use occupie possess and Enjoy the above Bargained and Granted premises with the appurtenances free and Clear freely and Clearly acquitted Exonerated and discharged of and from all and all manner of other or former Gifts, Grants, Bargains, sales, mortgages wills Joynturs Dowryes Entailes or Incumbrances in the Law whatsoever moreover I the s'd Sam'll KELCEY for my self my heirs Executors and Administrators Do Covenant & Ingage the above Bargained and Granted premises to him the s'd Robert CARTTER his heirs and assigns against the Lawfull Claimes or Demands of any person or persons whomsoever forever here after to warrant secure and defend In witness where of I the s'd Samuel KELCEY have hereunto set my hand and seale this twenty first Day of may Anno Dominie one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine and In the second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of Great Brittain &c
