Notice to Edward RUTTY of Survey for Horace ARNOLD

          To Edward Rutty of Killingworth and of Haddam in Middlesex County you are hereby notified that on Thrusday the 16 day of September inst - the following peices of land will be survey'd out to Horace Arnod of said Haddam he claiming the same as a purchaser of the claim from one holding a right under one of the original proprietors of the Town of Haddam that is to say the first piece begins at the Saybrook & Haddam monument -- thence Northerly about 100 rods - thence Westerly about 20 rods thence Southerly to the West Monument thence Easterly to the first bound containing about 4 acres be the same more or less said piece of land is bounded Northerly on the heirs of Jonathan Smith Southerly on land of Heber Brainerd and the heirs of Gideon Brainerd decd - Easterly on the heirs of Augustus Lewis & the heirs of Jonathan Smith decd. Also one other piece of land containing about four acres be the same more or less that is to say you are hereby notified on the said premises on the day aforsaid at ten oclock in the forenoon & there & then shew reasons if any you have why the said Arnold should not be seized in leveratty & have confirmed unto him the exclusive tittle [sic] to said piece of land.
