Deed from Benjamin WRIGHT to Josiah WRIGHT

To all Christian People to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:-Know ye that I Benjamin WRIGHT of Killingworth in the County of new London and Colony of Connecticut, for and in Consideration of Eighty Pounds Money to me in hand paid before ye ensealing of this instrument by my son Josiah WRIGHT of Saybrook in the County and colony aforesaid Eighty pound have relased Quitted claim unto and made over all my Right unto a certain tract of land known by the name of Chestnut Hill within the bounds of Oyster River Quarter in the Township of Saybrook, in the County and Colony aforesaid and said land is butted and bounded as followeth Begining at a walnut stadle thane extending Easterly 40 rods to a heap of Stones by ye root of a Black Oak tree, thence extending Northerly 60 rods to a stake with stones about it, thence extending Westerly 40 rods to a stake and a heap of Stones, thence extending Southerly 60 rods to the first mentioned boundary in which boundaries there is about 15 acres more or less.

And I the said WRIGHT do by these presents Release Quit Claim unto and make over all my right in said land unto my said son to him his heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold the above bargained Premises together with all priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anyways appertaining to the same and moreover I the said Benj. WRIGHT Do Covenant promise to and with the said Josiah WRIGHT ye above bargained premises from the lawful claims of any person or persons by or under me forever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26th day of February A.D. 1738/9 and in the 12th year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lord George ye Second King &c.
