NOTES FOUND IN THE DEATH RECORDS.
  • 1814. Whole number of deaths in 37 years is 765.
  • 1817. The number of deaths in 40 years is 831.
  • 1825. In 48 years, 1,039 have died in Keene. First Church records, page 110. In 48 years there have died in Keene 1,041. Thomas Fisher record.
  • 1834. 529 died since Z.S.B.(Rev. Z.S. Barstow) came to Keene, 1,372 died since the Declaration of Independence. First Church records.
  • 1837. Besides the above, Mrs. Cummings' daughter died at Fitzwilliam; William Rand at Boston; Mr. Woodcock at Swanzey; and all were brought state at the close of 1839; "37 died in Keene and 4 others that belonged here, interred in Keene--41."
  • 1865. "121 died in 1864, making 2,467 since my coming to Keene (1818). Z. S. B.," in First Church records.
