[In that portion lying nearest the church on the right and rear, the burials have been so many and not marked that the ground cannot now be opened without finding it has been opened before. The old church of about 1760 was used for a hospital about 1778 - soldiers were buried here. The stone house built by Lewis CARY about 1776, and still in use, was used as a small pox hospital.]
