[Transcriber's note:-- Normally Quaker dates do not name the months (i.e. Jan, Feb, etc), but use a numeric designation of 1st month, 2nd month, etc, which pre-1752 does not coincide with our understanding of January being the first month of the year. Under the earlier Julian calendar, March was the first month and February the 12th. See Regarding Quaker Calendar. The presence of so many gravestones with named months in a Quaker graveyard raises two possibilities: 1) The dates were "translated" and perhaps misinterpreted by the transcriber or 2) Some of the burials were not Quakers or Quakers who did not completely follow the rules of their society.]
